Rich Fields is the new permanent announcer for The Price is Right, taking over for Rod Roddy, who passed away in October 2003. Rich's official first day was April 27th, 2004. Watch Bob introduce him!

Between Rod's passing and Rich being named permanent announcer the following April, there were a number of announcers that filled in...some good, some not so. Below are some clips of those applicants from the show.

Note: for clips of Randy West or Rich Fields, go here

Burton Richardson - Has the most experience of any of the current announcers on The Price is Right, as he started subbing when Rod first became ill in the Fall of 2001. He was also the announcer of the Doug Davidson version of The Price is Right, and currently announces on other game shows, such as Family Feud and To Tell the Truth.

Roger Rose - A former VH1 VJ, Roger's voice can be heard in a number of places, particularly in cartoons - Rugrats and Brainiacs.com and even Scooby Doo are a few of example of his previous work (mostly voices, very little on camera experience outside of VH1).

Art Sanders - A radio DJ on KOMO 1000, flagship radio station of the Seattle Mariners. He has won various awards, such as the Edward R. Murrow and Country Music's Broadcast Personality of the Year Finalist.

Don Bishop - Has about 20 years of radio experience, and is currently working for Westwood One. He has also worked for radio stations in Salt Lake City, Chicago, Los Angeles, Washington DC, and Dallas.

Daniel Rosen - Daniel is the announcer of The Price is Right at a casino in Las Vegas. He can also be seen as "Eddie Green" on the CBS show "Nash Bridges". He also made numerous appearances on Johnny Carson's Tonight Show

Jim Thornton - Not sure of his current employment, but most recently, worked as traffic reporter on KNX 1070 in Los Angeles. Taken from KNX's website, "Morning drive traffic and weather reporter Jim Thornton formally joined KNX in June, 1993. However, his is a familiar voice on the station going back to his years with Metro Traffic when his reports were heard on KNX as well as a number of other radio stations in the market. A native of Huntington, West Virginia, Jim began his broadcasting career in 1985 with . . . you guessed it-doing traffic reports. Besides his traffic reporting work on KNX, Jim is one of the "voices" on local TV station, KCOP."

Paul Boland - taken from his professional website, "Growing up in Springfield, Mass., Boland became involved in the local theatre scene. He averaged 6 plays a year for 4 years. He continued to do theatre when he moved out to Los Angeles and joined an improve group called the “Komic-Kazies." After touring the nightclub and college circuit, Boland branched out on his own. His first break came when he appeared as the very first guest on ABC’s Into the Night. Since then he has made several television appearances and was featured as the announcer on the new Match Game, where everyday he had the chance to cut up with such stars as Michael Burger, George Hamilton and even Coolio. Most recently, he filled in for Rod Roddy as announcer on the CBS show The Price is Right!"
